Craig Lasseigne is an enlivening speaker with a balanced background in business and academia. He draws on the best of both experiences to present a viewpoint that is truly unique. He is constantly up-to-date with what industries are doing in business, technology, innovation, and quality. Mr. Lasseigne is currently the Dean, Business Programs at DeVry University (since January 2007); responsible for the undergraduate and graduate business programs at the Dallas metro campus.

Mr. Lasseigne started his career with DeVry University (since March 2002) as a fulltime instructor at the Chicago campus, in the Network & Communications Management (NCM), Network Systems Administration (NSA), and Business Information Systems (BIS) programs. Also, on a part-time basis he was on the faculty for DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management, and has taught in the MBA program at DePaul University, Kellstadt Graduate School of Management, in Chicago. As a professor, he developed and taught courses in the areas of quality, technology, innovation, motivation, leadership, change management, competitive intelligence, Internet development, telecommunications, and networking. From May 2003 through December 2004, he was the Chicago campus Chair for the NCM and NSA programs. During his time as chair, he participated in the launch of the DeVry Advantage Academy. A new program designed for high school students to attend DeVry University during their last two years in high school, and complete an associate's degree program when they graduate from high school.

Craig is involved in numerous professional activities. Often, he is a guest speaker at numerous company executive or professional organization gatherings on topics such as new product development (Japan, America, and Europe perspectives), managing technology and innovation, corporate asset management, competitive intelligence, and quality business practices. He was a member of DePaul Universities' PEN Symposium, a group that reviews entrepreneurial proposals looking for venture capital funding as provided by grants from the Coleman foundation. He is consulted about his perspective on current technology topics as a Member of USA Today's technology panel. Mr. Lasseigne was inducted into Who's Who in America in 1997.

In October 2005, Mr. Lasseigne delivered the keynote address at the Network and Systems Professionals Association (NaSPA) annual event held in Chicago. His address, titled Our Networking Evolution Toward a New Age, helped attendees explore how we use and support networking today and will in the future; addressing questions such as What does this mean for us? In January 2004, Mr. Lasseigne actively promoted and launched the new Network Systems Administration (NSA) associate degree program. In June of that year, DeVry University launched the DeVry Advantage Academy, starting a joint venture with Chicago Public Schools to offer 250 students the NSA degree along with their high school diploma.

In June 2003, the DeVry University Organizations named Mr. Lasseigne Professor of the Spring 2003 Term in appreciation for his dedicated and committed services to these organizations.

In 1993, while combining his corporate experience with his zest for education, he created and copyrighted Technology Foundation and the Industry Evolution Process: two concepts used by companies to quickly evaluate, select, and deploy new technologies and better understand the trends in their industry so they can quickly command a successful leadership role.

Mr. Lasseigne has an MBA from DePaul University, Kellstadt Graduate School of Management, in Chicago and a BS in Electronic Engineering Technology from the University of Houston, in Houston.

Background

Prior to joining DeVry, Mr. Lasseigne was the Manager of the Service Development Group for Oak Brook, IL based Lakeview Technology Inc., the leading provider of availability management software solutions for the IBM AS/400. In this key position, he oversaw the design and development of service offerings, and supported the delivery of service offerings that complement Lakeview software products.
